The poem reads:
Love me warmer than a yellow rose loves the sun on a long summer day.
Love me bigger than an open sky across an endless horizon.
Love me longer than the winding curves of the Rio Grande.
Love me deeper than the oldest roots of the tallest Hickory.
Love me sweeter than the wind that flows across the open plains.
Love me more than there are stars in the night sky.
Love me greater than the land my heart is bound to.
Love me back to where I belong, love forever me and you.
